Discovering Odakyu-Sagamihara Station! 🚉

Hello! (^_-)-☆

Today, I’d like to introduce Odakyu-Sagamihara Station!

Commonly known as “Odasaga,” this station is located in Minami-ku, Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, on the Odakyu Odawara Line. The surrounding area is a convenient mix of residential neighborhoods and commercial facilities, making it a popular place for both locals and foreigners alike.

A Station with a Friendly Nickname
Locals affectionately call Odakyu-Sagamihara Station “Odasaga.” Similarly, the nearby Sagami-Ono Station is often referred to as “Saga-O.” It’s a unique cultural trait in this area to use abbreviations when chatting!
By the way, I personally have never used “Saga-O” myself… 😅

An International Atmosphere
Near Odakyu-Sagamihara Station, you’ll find the Zama Camp, a U.S. military base. Because of this, the area has a strong American influence, creating an international vibe. There are many bars and restaurants catering to foreigners, making it a great spot to enjoy a multicultural experience.

Must-Know Highlights of Odasaga!

◆Sakura Viewing Spot 🌸
This park, located within walking distance from Odakyu Sagami-Ono Station, is well-loved by the local community. It offers spacious green areas, perfect for walking or jogging. The park also has playground equipment, so young children can enjoy themselves too. In spring, the cherry blossoms are especially beautiful, making it a popular spot for hanami (flower viewing). Additionally, you can see Romancecar trains passing by nearby, adding a unique touch to the experience.

◆ Odasaga’s Famous Taiyaki 🐟
Right in front of the station, there’s a long-established taiyaki shop loved by locals. The taiyaki here is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, creating the perfect texture! Many visitors come back for more, and during the colder seasons, enjoying a piping hot taiyaki is a signature Odasaga tradition.

Stay Tuned!
Next time, I’ll introduce some of Odasaga’s best dining spots! 🍴

See you soon!
