✈️ Departure Order!? Is It Forced!? 😱

💡 What Is a Departure Order?

As the phrase suggests, a “Departure Order” is an order to leave Japan.
Let’s take a look at who it applies to 👀

It’s a system under Japan’s Immigration Law that allows certain foreigners who have violated immigration rules to leave Japan voluntarily through a simplified procedure, without being detained.

🪪 A person who receives a Departure Order:
✅ Is considered to be in a legal status temporarily until departure
✅ May re-enter Japan after a minimum of one year

However ⚠️
If the person fails to leave Japan within the period specified by the Departure Order,
they will become subject to deportation and may also face criminal penalties.

⚖️ What Is “Deportation”?

Deportation is the forced removal of a foreign national from Japan.
Unlike the Departure Order, deportation usually involves detention by immigration authorities,
and the re-entry ban period is five years (or ten years in serious cases) 🚫

🌿 In Other Words…

Even if someone has overstayed their visa,
if they voluntarily report themselves to immigration,
they may be allowed to:
✅ Stay legally until departure, and
✅ Become eligible to re-enter Japan after just one year.

That’s the benefit of the Departure Order system.

🗞️ Current Situation

According to recent reports,
some foreigners enter Japan on short-term visas and later apply for refugee status to extend their stay.

Of course, some truly cannot return to their home countries for safety reasons.
But it’s also true that not everyone falls under that category.

💬 My View

I believe rules must be respected.
Even in difficult times, those who choose the right path will,
🌈 sooner or later, find a bright future ahead.

I also believe that everyone eventually faces the consequences of their choices.
That’s why I hope for a society where people who act with integrity and faith in their own justice are the ones rewarded.

Otherwise… what’s the point, right? 😉

See you next time! 👋
